Chael Sonnen says Jon Jones is better than Anderson Silva

Chael Sonnen has been inside the Octagon with both Jon Jones and Anderson Silva, so he is a pretty reliable source when asking the popular question right now: who is better, Jones or Silva?

"(Jones is) the best fighter I've ever fought," Sonnen said. "To beat a guy is one thing. To beat a guy at his game is another. He was stronger than Silva."

Sonnen, who lost twice to "The Spider" in bouts for the UFC middleweight title, continued to discuss the two fighters who are rumored for a future super-fight themselves.

"The last thing I want to do is disparage Anderson Silva," he said. "It's tough. I whipped (Silva) for 30 minutes, he whipped me for 30 seconds. I whipped Jon for zero seconds, he whipped me the entire fight. If you're asking for my opinion, Jon is better."

Sonnen, in typical Chael P. Sonnen fashion, proceeded to call out both Jones and Silva for not asking to fight the other later in the press conference.

This is interesting considering people's take on the potential superfight between the two. But I believe that all comes down to the wrestling background of Jon Jones. I've always been much more partial to wrestlers because the truth is that 70% of MMA is wrestling and Jones definitely has a better pedigree there.

Plus Sonnen took Silva down continuously at will and was able to dominate him, where as Jones dominated Sonnen in just one round. Interesting little note here.
