Chael Sonnen was released from the UFC and his position as an analyst from Fox Sports 1 following a second failed drug test that the NSAC conducted last week. But apparently for Sonnen not all the drama is ending there.

MMAJunkie.com has reported that the Nevada State Athletic Commission has fined Sonnen up to $250,000 for his second failed drug test. Sonnen announced his retirement on UFC Tonight after news of the first failed drug test came to light.

Sonnen's test came back positive with a total of 5 banned substances in his system given his two tests, and the NSAC is giving Sonnen 20 days to respond to the matter or send in a request for an appeal.

A copy of the letter has leaked online, the letter can be viewed here.

Sonnen has been unavailable to comment on the matter at this time.

What I want to know is why did the NSAC test him again when he didn't even compete on the event or even be active in MMA competition when the test was submitted. If I was Sonnen I'd definitely have lawyers on this.
