Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone has only one choice in mind for the location of his next UFC bout.

"I want to fight in Denver," Cerrone said Tuesday after beating lightweight Jeremy Stephens. "Whoever's begging at the bit to go is who I want to fight."

Cerrone (18-4 MMA, 5-1 UFC) earned a unanimous-decision win against Stephens (20-8 MMA, 7-6 UFC) on the UFC on FUEL TV 3 main card in Fairfax, Va. The result puts Cerrone back on the winning track after a decision loss to Nate Diaz in December.

Before the Diaz bout, Cerrone had six consecutive wins, including four in the UFC in 2011. He's No. 12 in the USA TODAY/SB Nation consensus rankings for lightweights.

He characterized himself as ready for a top-five opponent.

"Yeah, 100 percent," Cerrone said. "Hopefully in Denver."

UFC 150 takes place Aug. 11 in Denver, the promotion announced this past month. The card is far from being finalized

One or two more wins against highly regarded opposition could put Cerrone in the championship conversation. A showdown with No. 8 Anthony Pettis is one potential bout that appeals to Cerrone.

"That'd be a good match-up," Cerrone said. "Stylistically it'll work out perfect for me. He'll stand and want to fight and try and take me down. I'll beat him up, and then we'll keep fighting. That'd be good fight, especially for Denver

He took minimal to no damage last night on UFC, and Pettis is scheduled to return right around UFC 150 so it could happen. I think Pettis has much more power, and will do more damage over 3 rounds for the win.

Would be a good fight a win for Pettis puts him a hell of a lot closer to a title fight than Cowboy though.

Just read a small interview with Pettis and he's saying he'll be back to training in September, so the fight at UFC 150 likely won't happen as UFC 150 is at the beginning of August.

Diaz is supposed to get the winner of the Edgar/Bendo fight and honestly i couldn't care less about Cerrone so as far as i'm concerned this is between Bendo/Edgar/Pettis and Diaz and honestly, I'm not counting Edgar as well because Bendo isn't losing this fight with him.

They've got a money fight with Pettis/Bendo II.

There WEC fight was crazy good and they can play up the cage kick, would be a good FOX main event as they could draw in a ton of casual fans.

For sure, they put Bendo/Pettis for the title on Free tv and it would bring in some awesome numbers. They really should change how they book these Fox shows like Jim Miller and Nate Diaz are amazing fighters but nobody really knows Jim Miller and Nick is more of a draw in a main event role than Nate. Obviously other things can effect the ratings but ultimately i think they should put on that HUGE cant miss mainevent on Free Tv every once in a while ala JDS/Cain Velasquez for the championship that one fight broke tons of records, and it doesn't have to be every single Fox show but it would help to have a title fight on free Tv every now and then.

Would like to see Bendo kick his ass just to put that myth of Pettis to bed.

He doesn't deserve a title crack at all, but it's a big fight yeah and would be exciting nontheless.
