John Cena did an interview with Hot Clicks Podcast on SportsIllustrated.com discussing the legit heat he has with the Rock. Cena said that the issue he has is with the way the Rock talked about WWE after he left.

“I disagree with the way he does business,” said Cena. “I congratulate him on all his success. He’s had a Hall of Fame resume in WWE. His movies have grossed over $1 billion worldwide. But if was my career path, I would have done it differently…I disagree with some of the decisions he made.”

He added, “All that time being gone, and the total process he took to try to reinvent himself. I can show you magazine covers that say ‘The Rock is Dead,’ or ringside interviews where he’s said, ‘I’ll never go back to wrestling.’ Just talking bad about the vehicle that got you to the dance, and then when the dust settles wanting to come back to the dance.”

Might just be me but I don't think the rock owes wrestling or the WWE anything tbh. He gave alot to the business in his short tenure then he left for another goal. Could he have handled it differently? Absolutely. Did he make the right choice in moving away from the wrestler image? Imo definately look at how he's drawn in movies.

True, he did do his own thing. But that's the thing with WWE personnel, they don't quite like it when an other superstar leaves for a movie carreer.

Would've been funny if he said it though.

John isn't saying he owes the WWE really. He's saying that the WWE did get him to where he is today and it did, 100%. It was "the vehicle that took him to the dance", then saying things like "The Rock is dead" etc. I remember years ago when he said that, the IWC went nuts. As you say, he could have handled it differently and that's what John's "beef" is with him, whether it's all an act to make the feud more intense we'll never know.

One of two things

1.) This is a work and he is just continuing their feud and there is no 'legit heat'
or
2.) Cena is a butt hurt bitch who is jealous of The Rock. He sounds like the keyboard warriors in the IWC who cry about the Rock moving on from wrestling. He's become a bigger star, made more money, and done it with 1/100 of the wear and tear on his body that he would have had as a full time wrestler. As far as saying the Rock is dead, who gives a damn.

Agreed. John acts as if Rock isn't thankful for what WWE has done for him.

John said he would do things differently, which is y is fans respect him. he never said blamed Rock for leaving, just that he sold himself away. He may be lying, but we'll never know 4 sure. I remember John making his first CD and heard him say how serious he was and that he might leave 2 b a rapper. I think he couldve done it

I think to even call Cena a 'rapper' is a slap in the face to rappers everywhere. But that's just me.
