Cena legit injured...only not in the knee

While the injury angle on Raw was planned, John Cena did suffer a groin tear during the angle on Monday.
Cena gutted through a house show match last night in North Charleston, SC against Randy Orton but was hurting. He actually apologized to the live crowd afterward for not giving them the performance he wanted to give.

One person who worked the event last night said Cena was "pretty bad off" but was gutting through it since it was Wrestlemania season. "No matter what anyone wants to say about him, Cena's the machine - he keeps going."

We are also told WWE wanted to pull Cena from the house shows this weekend and he refused.

Groin tears can be absolutely horrible. So unless Cena has some serious dirt on WWE doctors he very well will be taking time out post mania. They wanted him off the house shows this weekend but apparently refused.

John is selling the beating from Monday. There is no groin tear or groin strain. There was no admonition from doctors not to work this weekend. It is part of the entertainment portion of the presentation, a body part to sell at the house show tonight and tomorrow..

Despite reports to the contrary, including one that we reported here as well, John Cena is not suffering from a groin tear (or groin strain). Apparently Cena is simply continuing to sell the attack from The Wyatt Family from Monday’s RAW.

Additionally, there was no admonition from doctors for Cena not to work this weekend. It is simply a case of Cena selling the attack and a way of explaining how he’s able to work at the weekend live events despite being “hospitalized” on television on Monday.
