Cathal Pendred and Mike King meet at UFC Fight Night 46 in Dublin
With both fighters eliminated from “The Ultimate Fighter 19,†they’ll now meet at UFC Fight Night 46 in Ireland.
UFC officials today announced Irish welterweight Cathal Pendred (13-2-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) will fight teammate Mike King (5-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) at the event, which takes place July 19 at The O2 in Dublin.

Pendred, the third pick on B.J. Penn’s “TUF 19″ team, made it to the middleweight tournament’s semifinal round, where he lost a split decision to Eddie Gordon. King, Penn’s first-round pick, suffered a unanimous-decision defeat to Gordon a round earlier in the quarterfinals.
Pendred, a highly touted 170-pound prospect who moved up to middleweight for “TUF 19,†got an immediate entry into the “TUF†house and didn’t have to fight in the elimination round of bouts. The former Cage Warriors champions, who vacated his belt to sign with the UFC, is riding an eight-fight unbeaten streak (7-0-1). Most recently, the 26-year-old scored a TKO victory over UFC vet Che Mills at Cage Warriors 55 in July 2013.
King, an Ohio native who fights out of Florida, is a decorated high school wrestler and former collegiate football player who turned pro in 2011 after a successful amateur run. He’s since posted a perfect 5-0 record with five stoppages, four of which have come in the first round. Most recently, the 30-year-old submitted Billy Garris at CFA 9 in January 2013.
