Carlos Condit says that he's not making a decision on who his next fight will be. Condit, the interim UFC welterweight champion, released a statement today about his plans for 2012 and said it all depends on Georges St. Pierre.

"I would prefer to be able to fully gauge Georges St. Pierre's recovery time before I make any decisions on my next fight," read the statement.

St. Pierre recently said that his recovery is ahead of schedule but that he didn't want to rush things, noting, "The danger with a lot of athletes is to push through the pain and try to go to fast." He said November might be his return date.

Honestly, i think if you win a interim championship you should defend it at least once, the fight with Diaz was viewed as controversial by many people Condit should go out and prove he's ready for GSP, rather than just sit out for ten months waiting for him.

I hate this waiting game that him and Rashad played.

Should just make Ellenberger the mandatory and get it over and done with, IMO.

Condit would be a lot better off fighting somebody than sitting out for all those months cause at least then he'll be in fighting shape and not just in good shape.

Agree with both of you guys, sitting around for ten months isn't going to do shit for the guy especially when you're next fight is against somebody like GSP.

Yeah I don't want to see him sit around and wait either. They gave him an interim title so he should be forced to defend it if he is fit and healthy.

Better off to wait and fight GSP, no use losing a hefty payday taking a fight against Ellenberger and possibly ruining your chances against fighting GSP at a higher payday.
