Dr. Doom was one of my favourite super villians. In the first Beyonder series Doom was awesome.

Two of the UFC's top contenders will be with the organization a bit longer.

Both UFC welterweight Carlos Condit and lightweight Ben Henderson have agreed to new multi-fight contracts, First Round Management president and CEO Malki Kawa announced.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"These fight contract extensions show the MMA world that the UFC values Ben Henderson and Carlos Condit as two of its top, young stars," Kawa stated. "Both are only 27 years old and have proven that they are contenders for titles in their weight divisions and also have strong fan bases. Fans will now be able to see them continue to grow in the octagon."

Condit and Henderson are both former WEC champions.

Condit (27-5 MMA, 4-1 UFC) looks for his fifth straight UFC victory when he meets B.J. Penn in UFC 137's co-headliner. Including his WEC run, Condit has won 12 of his past 13 fights, and his only defeat came via close split decision to Martin Kampmann in his 2009 UFC debut. Since then, the Jackson's Submission Fighting team member has squeaked by Jake Ellenberger via decision while picking up knockout victories over Rory MacDonald, Dan Hardy and Dong Hyun Kim.

Henderson (14-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC, meanwhile, recently thrust himself into lightweight title contention with an upset and dominant unanimous-decision victory over former top contender Jim Miller, which came after a UFC-debut victory over Mark Bocek. The MMA Lab team member also is 12-1 over his past 13 fights, and the lone defeat came to Anthony Pettis in the WEC's final show.
