Cannes Festival adds seven more films

The Cannes Film Festival has announced the addition of seven new films. British garbage documentary Trashed, featuring Jeremy Irons, joins the line-up of special screenings. Wayne Blair’s The Sapphires, about an aboriginal Australian pop group from the 1960s, and Franck Khalfoun’s horror flick Maniac, starring Elijah Wood, have been added to the Midnight Screening roster.

There will now be 20 films in the Un Certain Regard selection, including Bosnian entry Djeca, American debut Gimme the Loot, and French art biopic Renoir. Finally, the Cannes Classics segment on May 25 has opened a slot for Final Cut – Hölgyeim És Uraim, György Pálfi’s “montage film†cut from 400 films. The festival takes place from May 16-27.
