Camozzi vs. Santos back on at UFC 175, Smith meets Troeng at UFC Fight Night 46

Despite briefly announcing Bruno Santos (13-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) would not compete at UFC 175, UFC officials have now stated that the Brazilian will still fight Chris Camozzi (19-7 MMA, 6-4 UFC) at the summer event.

That means Trevor Smith (11-5 MMA, 1-2 UFC), who was initially announced as a replacement opponent, will now instead face Tor Troeng (16-5-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 46.

UFC officials today announced the change of plans.

Featuring a pair of championship fights, UFC 175 takes place July 5 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

Meanwhile, UFC Fight Night 46, which features Conor McGregor vs. Cole Miller, takes place July 19 at The O2 in Dublin and streams in the U.S. on UFC Fight Pass.

Camozzi, who joined the UFC after appearing on “The Ultimate Fighter 11″ in 2010, finds himself in a must-win situation. Although he fought his way back into the organization after a 2011 release, and though he eventually put together a four-fight winning streak in the UFC, the 27-year-old has since suffered back-to-back losses to Ronaldo “Jacareâ€￾ Souza and Lorenz Larkin.

Santos began his professional career in 2007 and rattled off 13-straight wins to open his professional career. That earned him a call from the UFC this past December, but he came up short in a decision result against Krzysztof Jotko.

Meanwhile, Smith is also in need of a victory. A four-time Strikeforce veteran, “Hot Sauceâ€￾ came up on both sides of two split-decision results to open his UFC career, defeating Brian Houston but falling short against Ed Herman. More recently. Smith suffered a 45-second TKO loss to Thales Leites at UFC Fight Night 39 in Abu Dhabi.

Swedish fighter Troeng also looks to rebound from a loss after suffering a disappointing decision loss to Rafael Natal this past September. That result snapped an official five-fight winning streak for the former “The Ultimate Fighter 17″ cast member.
