Cage Warriors signs 'The Ultimate Fighter 12' cast member Aaron Wilkinson
Free agent lightweight Aaron Wilkinson (8-5) has signed a five-fight deal with Cage Warriors Fighting Championship.
Cage Warriors officials recently announced the signing and revealed that Wilkinson's first fight with the promotion is expected to come in July.
As with all of Cage Warriors' 2012 events, the card is expected to air on MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).
"Aaron is a very exciting fighter who already has a lot of experience under his belt," Cage Warriors director Graham Boylan stated. "But we feel the best is still to come from him, and everyone at Cage Warriors is very happy to have him on board."
Englishman Wilkinson is best known for his stint on "The Ultimate Fighter 12," where he served under team coach Josh Koscheck. After earning his way into the house with a win over Mike Richman, Wilkinson was defeated in a controversial third-round submission loss to eventual finalist Michael Johnson.
Wilkinson's performance was impressive enough to earn him a wild-card spot, where he advanced with a submission win over Marc Stevens. However, Wilkinson was submitted in the quarterfinal round by Kyle Watson.
Wilkinson was invited to the show's live finale, but after suffering a submission loss to Cody McKenzie, he was released by the promotion.
Wilkinson has since posted a 2-1 mark fighting in his native England.
