1. Plagiarism
Anyone found copying and pasting work from old BTBs that don't belong to them, regardless of whether the BTB in question is from here or it's from another website, will have their threads closed and will face further consequences in the form of an infraction or even ban. Do not steal other people’s work.
2. Starting new threads (RULE UPDATED)
Effective 12/19/2023 - You can only create 1 new BTB every 30 Days per section (Wrestling, Non-Wrestling, EWR/TEW). It is always worth considering realistically how much you can handle with the amount of free time you have. This will encourage people to be mindful of what projects they are doing and encourage people to stick with one thing. It also prevents the section from being cluttered with several short lived/non start projects.
Additional clarification - this is not a limit on how many projects you can have going at a time. Just on how many you can start every 30 days.
3. Reviewing
Everyone writes hoping to receive feedback and that is perfectly fine. However, please do not ask for feedback other than in your BTB or in the BTB Advertisement Thread. Also, don’t review another BTB with one or two throwaway lines in hoping to get a review back as this is frankly spam.
Reviewing is all about how much time people have and if you’re not receiving the feedback you want don’t take this as a criticism of your work.
4. Criticism
A major part of reviewing work is constructive criticism If you point out flaws in people's work, show them where they can improve and help them out - do not just slam something they have done. Constructive criticism is what will help the section thrive and help improve every thread and writer who comes to the site. We want this place to thrive not be a scary place for posters to come.
With that said please be welcoming to newcomers and avoid any personal insults or expect repercussions.
5. Bumping
Never bump dead threads, if a BTB has not been commented on in a couple months, leave it be, anything you have to say about it can be DM’d to the author who may have decided to end their work.
6. Closing Threads
Unless you break a rule, threads will always remain open, even if there have been no active posts for some time. That said, if you wish for your thread to be closed, contact the moderator who will do it for you, the same goes for re-opening threads.
7. Deceased Wrestlers
You are allowed to use them if you so wish, however, the moderator has the right to close any deceased wrestler threads that are totally insensitive and cause widespread offence.
8. BTB of the Month
The BTBOTM award will be run by the moderator and will be voted for via PM. All active threads in the last month which have had at least one show posted will be eligible and you will be able to vote for your top five. The winning BTB will be pinned for a month.
This shouldn’t be anything new or groundbreaking for anyone but I think it is useful for anyone new joining the forum and the section.
