The scene opens outside Mercy General Hospital, Sacramento. Justin Fire, Daniel Ice and Steve Arundel are exiting through the front doors. Steve has a cast on his arm and stitches on his face
Justin Fire: "How does it feel to breathe fresh air again Steve? 2 weeks in a hospital full of sick people can't smell too hot."
Steve laughs and pats himself down.
Steve Arundel: "Feels good, I just wish I had some smokes on me. They must've taken them out of my pocket when they put my clothes in storage."
Daniel Ice looks over with a disbelieving smile and chuckles
Daniel Ice: "You've been stuck in there for 2 weeks and instead of breathing this sweet Cali air, you want to suck in that crap? You're one of a kind Steve, I tell ya, one of a kind."
Steve nods is head, apparently failing to notice the backhanded nature of Ice's compliment.
Steve: "That's why you keep me around. Hell, if I was a boring, run-of-the-mill, everyday S.O.B. neither of you two chuckleheads would even want to know my name. Now, to serious business - you're competing for the tag titles this weekend, you better have been training like madmen."
Fire lets out a sigh and looks up to the sky, but when he turns his head back down, he's smiling.
Fire: "Yes, mother, we've trained like there's no tomorrow. We could probably win every event in the freaking olympics with the amount of training with been doing to get ready for this match. We're not gonna lose it. We can't lose it. I think we'd rather lose our jobs than lose this match after all the work we've put in. So don't worry, at the end of the night, you'll be the manager of the WKF's first ever Tag Team Champions."
Steve's face lights up.
Steve: "You mean I actually get to be your manager now?"
Ice: "Of course. It's the least we could do after I got a bit carried away a couple of weeks ago. If it wasn't for me, you wouldn't even be in that damn place."
All three men turn back to the hospital, now some distance behind them. Steve gives it a two-finger salute and they continue to walk.
Ice: "Now we're going to be training hard for the next few days and, judging by the condition you're in, I doubt you're going to be able to help us out too much..."
Steve stops and gives Daniel a look as if to say "no shit sherlock". Fire and Ice stop too and turn to look at him. Seeing his expression, they burst out laughing, before all three start walking again.
Ice:"...so you rest up and we'll pick you up the day before Champions Showcase and we'll sort out some things."
The three reach a taxi rank and Fire hails a cab. He hands Steve a few 20s and pats him on the shoulder.
Fire: "You good to get back on your own? It's just we've got to go and do our promo for the Showcase in a few hours, so we've gotta get ready for that."
Steve opens the back door of the cab and gets in. He turns to Fire and Ice, leaving the door open.
Steve: "No problem. My home is only a few blocks away on 35th and Folsom anyway. Where's your promo at?"
Fire: "Sac State Gym. They're doing a mock-up of a WKF set there, but it's also where we're training. But it's in the other direction to your place, so we might as well get seperate cabs."
Steve: "No worries amigo. I'll see you guys on Saturday, then on Sunday, we're gonna kick some ass!"
Ice: "Rest up buddy, take care of yourself."
Steve closes the door and then directs the driver to take him to the corner of 35th and Folsom. Fire and Ice hail another cab and get inside as the scene ends.
----------------------------------------------------
The Camera cuts to Rick Ranson stood in what looks to be the backstage area at a WKF event (but is actually part of the Sacramento State University gym), microphone in hand, and Fire and Ice walk in to the shot.
Rick Ranson: "Joining me now are two men who make up one of the teams competing in the 2-out-of-3 falls match at Champions Showcase for the Wrestling Kings Federation Tag Team Championship, Justin Fire and Daniel Ice, now gentlem...."
Fire pulls out his own microphone and immediately cuts off Ranson.
Justin Fire: "Thanks Ricky, we'll take it from here. Now let me start off by sayi...."
Ranson looks annoyed as he interrupts.
RR: "HEY QUIT TRYING TO DO MY JOB FOR ME! You act like I'm some incompetent idiot!"
Fire and Ice look slightly bemused at this outburst.
Fire: "Chill out Ricky, we're just having some fun bro. No disrespect meant."
Ranson somewhat relaxes.
RR: "Thank you. Now if you don't mind, I can do this interview myself."
Fire and Ice nod.
Fire: "Ok, fine."
RR: "Now, gentlemen, how have you prepared yourselves for what promises to be a grueling contest between yourselves and long time rivals, Bromance?"
Fire and Ice look blankly around and start whistling, totally ignoring the question.
RR: "Um...guys? Hello? How have you prepared yourself for this match?"
Fire and Ice continue to ignore Ranson. Fire looks at his wrist, seemingly trying to tell the time. He looks bemused at the lack of a watch on his wrist and moves his arm around in an exaggerated manner trying to look for it. Then an almost enlightened expression comes across is face, and he mutters quietly to himself. Meanwhile Ice pulls a yo-yo out of his pocket and starts to spin it. He tries an extraordinary trick, but loses grip of the yo-yo, and it flies out of his hands into a nearby TV. Ice looks apologetically around, then he and Fire both turn back to Ranson, who is looking highly confused.
Daniel Ice: "Sorry Rick, did you need something?"
Ranson looks back, dumbstruck and wide-eyed at such a question. Finally he recovers enough to reply.
RR: "YES, I'M WAITING FOR YOU TO ANSWER MY QUESTION!!!!"
Ice: "Oh...well, we thought you said you could do this interview yourself, so we didn't feel it necessary to reply. But if you can't do this interview yourself, I guess that makes you a liar. Liars aren't cool Rick, and we don't really want to do an interview with a liar. So if you don't mind, we'll leave now."
Fire and Ice walk off, leaving Ranson all alone. He looks stunned, and his mouth is wide open. Then he walks off in a resigned fashion, shaking his head. A few seconds after he leaves, Fire and Ice come back into the shot, looking straight at the camera.
Fire: "Well, now that that idiot is out of the way, we can do this the proper way. First we need to address our opponents at Champions Showcase. Bromance, we've put on some classics in the past few weeks. You've won some but, thanks to Daniel's success against Eli, we've won more. No other way of putting it. We don't plan on that changing anytime soon, especially not at Showcase."
Ice: "Eli, Trey, there's mutual respect between our teams, but it counts for nothing in between the bell ringing to start the match and the bell ringing to end it. We're gonna give the crowd one hell of a show and enjoy it as much as them. But we're as focussed as we've ever been. We're not coming to Showcase to be the team who came second. We're going there to complete the dream. We're going there to become WKF's first ever Tag Team Champions. We're not going into this match with any other goal than to win. So you make sure you bring your A-Game, bring 100%. Because we will give you our best. We are going to put our bodies, our spirits, our hearts, all of it, we're going to put it on the line to make sure that we go out there and bring our best, because we know if we give our best, then we're winning these titles, and fulfilling our dream, unless you can bring your best too. The question is, is your best good enough to stop us."
Fire: Now to all the Fire and Ice fans, all the Bromance fans, hell to all the WRESTLING fans coming to Champions Showcase, get ready, strap yourselves in. Because we plan on bringing you the show, and match, of a lifetime."
Fire and Ice walk off for good this time and the camera fades out.
