Former UFC heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar was recently charged by Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada hunting and wildlife officials with one count of improper tagging, one count of wasting meat and and one count of illegal possession of wildlife for a hunting trip he took in November of 2010.
Lesnar and his hunting guide, Chad Stryker, were both charged in the incident for allegedly taking down a mule deer buck, only to keep the head for trophy purposes while leaving the rest of the animal to rot in the field, an act widely considered unethical amongst most hunters.
Today, the Winnipeg Free Press reports that a lawyer representing Lesnar appeared before a Medicine Hat court to to plead guilty to the count of improper tagging; the other two charges were dropped.
Lesnar has been ordered to pay a $1,725 fine and is suspended from hunting for six months.
Lesnar is currently winding down preparation for his December 30th bout against former Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem. The fight, which will determine the next challenger to current UFC heavyweight champ Junior dos Santos, goes down at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
