Recently we reported that Brock Lesnar was scheduled to make his return to WWE television this June, and is being advertised for the WWE Battleground PPV in July.

The WWE Japan Twitter account noted early Friday morning that Lesnar would be a part of this year’s international tour, making an appearance at the July 4th live event at the Ryougoku Sumo Hall in Tokyo. While it seems incredibly unlikely the company would bring in the “Beast Incarnate” for an international house show, the WWE Japan YouTube channel then put out this official video advertisement:

For what it’s worth, the video still lists NXT Superstar Hideo Itami for the tour. Itami was supposed to be a big part of this year’s events, with a big push for his return to Japan, he is currently injured and is not expected to return to the ring by July.

The video also claims it will be Lesnar’s first return to Japan in over 12 years, which isn’t even close to being true. It may be his first time returning to the country as a WWE Superstar, but Brock won the IWGP Heavyweight Championship in his first ever match for New Japan in 2005, in front of about 38,000 fans at the Tokyo Dome.

Lesnar last wrestled at Sumo Hall in 2007, dropping the IWGP title to Kurt Angle.

Btw, that 2005 Dome show didn't draw 38,000. There was around 7-8,000 in the audience, basically the "peak" of Inokism.

Because as everyone knows, if it didn't happen under the WWE umbrella (or under the umbrella of any of the wrestling promotions that WWE owns the rights and footage to), then it never happened period. :park:

I figured Brock was coming back around this time any way. But good to know it seems to be set in stone.

Backstage News On Brock Lesnar Working House Show In Japan

- As reported earlier, Brock Lesnar is being advertised to wrestle in Japan for the first time in twelve years.

The official YouTube account is promoting that the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion will be appearing at the Sumo Hall in Tokyo, Japan on July 4, 2015. According to WWE.co.jp, Lesnar's opponent at the event will be WWE Tag Team Champion Kofi Kingston. It will also be his first wrestling appearance at a non-televised WWE event since 2004.

On the F4WOnline.com message board, Dave Meltzer said Lesnar is working the event because he planned to visit Masa Saito, a retired Japanese wrestler, with friend Brad Rheingans (a former wrestler from Minnesota who competed for the American Wrestling Association, New Japan Pro Wrestling and briefly WWE in 1986 as an enhancement talent).

"Lesnar and Brad Rheingans wanted to go to Japan to see Masa Saito," Melter wrote. "Just figured since he was going anyway, make it tax deductible, get his trans paid and work one show."

Meltzer noted that Lesnar is only working that one show. Another show will be held at the same venue on July 3, 2015.
