The UFC’s return to Japan now has a main event.

The headline fight will take place in the light heavyweight division as former Pride champion Wanderlei Silva battles American hero Brian Stann.

In addition to the Silva vs. Stann fight, a lightweight bout pitting former Ultimate Fighter winner Diego Sanchez against Takanori Gomi will also take place on the card.

Stann returns to action after a tough decision loss to Michael Bisping in his last fight at UFC 152 in Toronto earlier this year.

The former Marine captain will look to get back on track with a trip to Japan to face one of the most legendary fighters to ever fight there

For years, Wanderlei Silva ruled Pride Fighting Championships with an iron fist, and did so with some of the most devastating knockouts the sport has ever seen. Now Silva returns to Japan for the first time since 2006 before Pride was bought out by Zuffa and the company disbanded.

Both fighters are moving to Light-Heavyweight for this fight as well. Struve vs. Mark Hunt is the co-main event followed by Diego Sanchez vs. Takanori Gomi. Siyar Bahadurzada vs. Dong Hyun Kim has also been booked for this show.

Think Stann should take this comfortably if he plays it smart and doesn't just stand and trade like a madman. He'll have needed to make improvements from his last fight against Bisping because he looked extremely poor in that fight.

Stann will knock him out.

No idea what Wandy is doing moving up against bigger guys when he has no chin.

Also, holyshitawesomecard. Sanchez back at lightweight? I'm sold. Way too good for a Fuel card.

Hopefully this is the swangsong for Wandy, if Leben made him look like his chin was dust, what will Stann do here? Not going past first round for sure.

Also, Gomi doesn't peak my interest no more, Pride was along time ago.

I just don't know why Wandy is moving up in weight. He was doin fine at middleweight. He is too small to be a light heavy. Grrrrrrrr. But at least he is returning to Japan. That in itself will be cool. But yeah this card is way too good for Fuel. Put it on FX so I can see it.

Really confused as to why Wandy is moving up a division, yes he wasn't doing that well at Middleweight but I fail to see how things will improve against bigger opponents. Stann moving up I like, he has done alright at Middleweight but he has been stopped by two of the top guys in that division so he may as well see what he can do at a different weight level especially since he used to fight at LHW. Will be surprised at anything other than a Stann win.

Well I'll definitely be hoping for a Wandy win. Always will be.

It's only a temporary move for Stann, he said at the minute there's nothing for him at Middleweight because everyone is in fights or injured and Wandy wouldn't move down.
