In a day full of matchmaking, one more fight for the UFC on FX 4 card couldn’t hurt right?
American-turned-Australian Brian Ebersole will make his return to action on the June 22 card to face recent submission machine T.J. Waldburger.
UFC officials announced the new match-up late Wednesday evening.
Following a long career in several promotions, Brian Ebersole finally made his UFC debut in 2011 when he stepped in on short notice to face Chris Lytle at UFC 127 in Australia. The veteran lived up to the opportunity and defeated Lytle by unanimous decision, and has gone on to win two more times inside the Octagon.
Facing the three-fight UFC winner will be T.J. Waldburger, who looks to equal that mark after back-to-back wins in his recent fights as well.
Waldburger was stopped by current UFC welterweight title contender Johny Hendricks in his first bout with the promotion, but stormed back with two nasty submission wins his last couple of fights.
Waldburger put away Mike Stumpf by triangle choke and then landed a beautiful armbar submission on Jake Hecht at UFC on FX 2 earlier this month.
Now Waldburger will look to make it a trio of consecutive victories when he faces Ebersole in Atlantic City as part of the UFC on FX 4 card landing there on June 22.
Ebersole with an easy win right here i think.
