Brian Cage lost in in the shuffle?

Just read this article at wrestling news claiming Brian Cage is frustrated about how he's being used in AEW.

I agree, I think he has the ability and talent to be a top guy...BUT he needs more personality...or a mouth piece....

Personally (assuming it's not a work) here's how I would go about it.

Play off the frustration. Have cage in a number of squash matches, each time getting more violent and intense to the point he's dangerous. Commentary with the usual "he could have killed him yadda yadda"...

Meanwhile in the background Lance Archer is on a winning streak too....

Until Dynamite. Lance Archer vs Brian Cage. Brian Cage is now this violent doesn't give a f*** machine....and Lance Archer the murderhawk monster....The Monster Vs The Machine...

and they run out the clock. It ends in a draw. Which leads into

Rampage. No DQ match. And it ends with a double pin. Another draw. Jake Roberts enters the ring post match. Brings a steel chair. Folds it out and sits down. Grade A Jake promo talking about "the unstoppable force meeting the immovable object.."

And so the most bada$$ tag team in AEW is born.

Every match gets more brutal. Jake is the mouthpiece both men need. They are doing great. Finally a match comes along where they put someone in hospital!

Out comes Tony Khan. "Sick of your total disregard for your opponents yadda yadda you're suspended!"

Cage demands one more match for what belongs to him, the FTW title. Tony refuses. Backstage the duo jump the current FTW champion and take the title...

and then they're gone! Send them to Japan for a tour. And when they come back have the monster and the machine win the tag titles.....

I can't blame Cage for being frustrated if true, but I also don't exactly wanna see him on TV over most other guys that are featured

It gets brought up pretty much every time AEW has a signing so it's been a topic recently about who will be the guys who leave AEW for WWE in the future since it's most definitely going to happen at some point.

Cage would be one I'd bet on

I am going to be honest, I don't see the appeal of Cage.

I've seen his previous work and it was great.

I do think maybe he could stand to lose 20lbs of mass. But the real issue with him is his lack of character. Wardlow is already a "muscle". Cage was a "muscle" character who didn't talk until he got booted from Team Taz. He looks like a million dollars, but if he can't give me a reason to be interested, then I'm not going to want to watch him.

I mean he certainly isn't being used right, I always thought he was a decent enough performer. That's my only worry that the roster is getting ridiculous in size at this point.

Yeah I was just saying within the last couple weeks that I wouldn't be surprised if Cage is one of the first guys to leave AEW on their own volition. When he signed with AEW, they needed every semi-big name they could get. Now the roster is stupid stacked. Therefore he's gone from a guy that was challenging for the World Title at one point, to a dude who's in a feud that struggles to make it on TV, and is losing most of those encounters as well. Who knows, though? AEW has a way of shuffling things around and finding these unique ways to heat people up. We'll see.

Maybe a hot take, but he's just not performed when given the chance. He's had title chances n had a feud w sting n Darby too. Reality, to me at least, is he's a very bad promo and hasn't really been putting on bangers . Doesn't help that somehow hook was more over than him in his own group

The only good thing is if he can stay with AEW, and still work everywhere. Tony Kahn seems like a guy that will let you take opportunities. The problem with Cage is he's already up there in age.

Cage is an average talent who can sometimes have a good match depending on the talent. He’s also been very unlikable since he turned face tbh.

Cage wasn't even the best big man in Team Taz tbh. There are people in AEW who are misused. I don't think Cage is one of them. He debuted in the world title scene and then couldn't even sell his arm properly in a match where the story was his arm being too injured so Taz threw in a towel. He's also been featured often and holds wins over Darby and Page. It's not like he hasn't been pushed. Let him go back to IMPACT if he is unhappy imo.
