Former Strikeforce heavyweight Brett Rogers was arrested on June 30th and charged with three felony counts of assualt in regards to an alleged incident with his wife. He was released from Strikeforce later that day by Dana White. His legal counsel put out a statement today that stated they believe Rogers is innocent of the acts he's being accused of (via MMA Junkie):

"As in all criminal matters, Mr. Rogers is presumed innocent until and if he is proven guilty," the statement from Mohammad & Jaafar-Mohammad, LLC read. "Mr. Rogers asserts his innocence in this matter and is confident that the facts of what happened will vindicate his assertion of innocence.

"Mr. Rogers has never been charged with any domestic related incidents or assault offenses. He is a caring and loving husband and father that has recently found success as a heavyweight mixed martial arts fighter. We urge all media and interested individuals to withhold judgment as to what occurred during this incident."

Rogers will return to court on July 25th. He is currently out on bail.
