I don't know if he really has to worry about the royalties. I mean, those are legal things and I highly doubt an appearance elsewhere would cause any problems.

Legends contract might have a stipulation against appearing on a competitors program.
But if we are being honest I think he doesn’t have any desire to interact with Martha and just uses this as an excuse.

True, but he would also know about that stipulation. He was ambiguous about whether he could do it or not. I dunno.
