Brenneman just issued his inspiring victory over Rick Story with only one day of notice at UFC Live 4 on June 26th, and Anthony Johnson bounced back from his loss to Josh Koscheck with a decision over Dan Hardy at Ultimate Fight Night 24 in March.
In the same announcement, lightweights Matt Wiman and Mac Danzig will rematch after a controversial ending to their UFC 115 match. Their first encounter unfolded with Wiman barking to the referee that Danzig was out while wrenching a guillotine. Danzig never tapped, but the referee intervened and awarded Wiman the submission victory despite the immediate protests of Danzig.
The loss was the fourth in five fights for Danzig, but he scored a first round knockout over Joe Stevenson at UFC 124, while Wiman was just on the wrong end of a tight split decision against Dennis Siver at UFC 132.
Jeremy Botter of HeavyMMA released more information about the upcoming event. Though the UFC has yet to announce it officially, the show is expected to be dubbed UFC on Versus 6 and take place on October 1st in Washington, D.C.
