We’d never dream that watching NBC’s coverage of the Kentucky Derby would yield anything newsworthy for the site.

Unfortunately, it did.

During an interview of Cowboys owner Jerry Jones by Bob Costas, Jones disclosed that a tornado hit the team’s practice facility in Irving within the last half hour.

The team’s rookies were at the building for a minicamp practice, along with coaches, front-office employees, and some members of the media. There are no fatalities, but at least one injury.

Stay tuned.

lol, Cowboys.

That sucks, considering how much he spent on the stadium, but serves him right. Its the Cowboys.

It was their practice facility in Irving (where they currently play), not the new stadium that will open this August in Arlington. Thankfully the new stadium was unharmed :)

btw people just hate the Cowboys because they're the best NFL team in history tbh

Cowboys special teams coach Joe DeCamillis was taken from Cowboys headquarters on a stretcher with a neck brace.

Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones is at the Kentucky Derby. He told NBC's Bob Costas:

"Our rookies, approximately 27 of them, recently drafted free agents as well as our coaching staff as well as our scouting were the principle people in there. A few media. We know of at least one injury. They did not get good warning there and the structure did collapse. And we're assessing who's injured at this particular time."

Irving fire and rescue workers were on the scene within 10 minutes of the building's collapse. All players and coaches have been accounted for, and the remainder of the mini-camp has been cancelled.
About 30 minutes into the second practice of the day, the building's roof began to tremble and suspended light fixtures started shaking. Seconds later the building collapsed, sending the 27 players, any maybe 30 members of the team's staff and local media scrambling. Several players, still wearing helmets, helped free one news reporter from the debris as rain and winds continued to blow down on the scene.
Irving fire department officials are expecyed to brief the media soon. More to come.

Press confernce at Valley Ranch had 10 transported to hospital, plus two walk in at the hospital.

I read that there was only one serious injuries, and they were impaled
