Bray Wyatt could be nearing a return to WWE.

The 36-year-old has been out of action since late February with an undisclosed illness. However, according to a report from Fightful Select, Wyatt is "closer" to being medically cleared.

WWE and Wyatt are reportedly being extra cautious regarding his condition and long term health.

Regarding a potential timeline for Wyatt's return, one source noted to Fightful that creative pitches have been made that would see him back on WWE programming next month, although this is dependent on him being medically cleared.

Wyatt returned to the promotion at Extreme Rules last October following a series of QR codes being shown on WWE programming in the weeks leading up to the show. The codes linked to a WWE website with various imagery that teased his return.

Wyatt hasn't wrestled on WWE programming since defeating LA Knight in the Mountain Dew Pitch Black match at the Royal Rumble. He hasn't wrestled at all since a 2/26 house show event in Rockford, Illinois.

Is this the same thing he was out for when he got fired? If so maybe it's just time to hang up the boots or lead a faction and wrestle takers schedule instead of coming back full time. Seems likely that it's recurring and the job doesn't help it go away.

When he was released couple of years ago, wasn't he one of the people who didn't get vaccinated?

The father of Bray Wyatt feels his son will be coming back to WWE soon.

Appearing at WrestleCon over the weekend, former WWE and WCW star Mike Rotunda (IRS) told Sportskeeda that he feels Wyatt will be back "hopefully shortly."

"You read a lot of stuff on the internet which I wouldn't believe a lot of or, in my case, any of it. Bray Wyatt...I'm sure he will return to WWE, hopefully shortly, and we'll go from there," he said.

The 36-year-old Wyatt has been gone since February due to an undisclosed illness for which he has yet to be medically cleared. Earlier this month, Fightful reported that he is getting closer to achieving that status. The ailment was reported as both career and life threatening which is why there has been caution with bringing him back.

Wyatt last wrestled on a February 26th house show against LA Knight.

Rotunda also gave an update on his brother-in-law Barry Windham after he suffered a heart attack last December. Rotunda said Windham was "doing good and back up and running" and just did an autograph signing recently.
