Michael Bisping is to undergo surgery for a torn meniscus today.

The UFC middleweight star informed Fighters Only on Thursday evening that he would be going under the knife today to fix the injury, which has caused him to pull out of a UFC 149 meeting with Tim Boetsch.

Bisping did not specify which knee he had torn a meniscus on. “Torn meniscus, operation tomorrow, will be back in [action] quickly though. Just gonna set me back a few weeks,â€￾ he wrote.

The meniscus is one of several strips of cartilage that supports the knee, holds it in place and allows it to undertake weight-bearing and flexibility tasks. They are most often injured by way of an excessive twisting movement, particularly while the leg is bent.

Not sure how serious something like this really is, i know it's not like an ACL tear or something.
