Big update on Sting

In an update on the current Sting/TNA situation, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that there is some question as to whether the booking team and Jeff Jarrett in particular are in favor of signing him to a new contract. It should be noted that last year Jarrett was not in favor of the cost it took to get Sting, especially since he didn't work house shows or international events in Japan, Mexico or the UK. Ultimately, the decision is up to TNA President Dixie Carter and no one else reportedly has any input. Carter has seen Sting as a real superstar that is good for the company to have when it comes to making business deals, although some have questioned that line with Kurt Angle now with the company. Many key people in TNA have reportedly soured on him when he hasn't made a difference in TV ratings or PPV buyrates and is known to turn down many ideas by creative. Many feel it will all come down to Sting deciding if he wants to do this for another year and that should be known soon.

Well thats the way the cookie crumbles huh? Honestly, I love all of Sting's programs, and storylines on TNA(Excluding the last one with Joe, and Booker). Sting is basically a Ric Flair, and Triple H figure for TNA. He's iconic, and old like Flair, yet he scores titles, and is usually a big player in the main events like Hunter. So I know he will probably just retire after one last year, but I sure wish he doesn't. Maybe Sting should have a storyline with Cornette for the GM spot, like Austin, and Bischoff did.

LOL @ the ratings; did Kurt Angle do anything for ratings, or Booker T for that matter? No, and how much are they paying 'em? Probably very near the same, though less. Of course he's going to turn down some storylines from creative, they probably aren't all that creative to begin with! And Jeff Jarrett should be the LAST one talking over who's worth what sum of money. TNA needs to advertise above and beyond what they're doing now, which is why ratings are staying the same. As for Sting, I wouldn't mind him staying another year, though it's his choice.

Well they got to get their storyline straight for BFG if they will go with the retirement angle. If it's a retirement match, hell no they won't sign him again, I would rather make a play for Brock Lesnar.

I would never, ever want to see Brock Lesnar return to wrestling again, ESPECIALLY with TNA

I think he should hang up his boots, personally. Don't find him particularly entertaining and never have.

One brock can't make a promo and that is a bad loss he is as good as promo's as Bobby Lashly baby face and thats saying something but yea I hope they do something better than that..

I am and have always been a fan of Sting, ever since his good old WCW days. I don't know, there is just something about him that makes me mark the 'F' out whenever I see him. In my honest opinion TNA is a lot better with Sting there. I really hope he does sign, and I hope he doesn't have the retirement angle at Bound For Glory like some people have mentioned.

I was a huge Sting mark in WCW, and even during the earlier days of TNA. But I really think it's time for The Icon to hang up his boots. Either way even if he leaves or not! It won't really effect me. I think TNA could still be alright with Sting gone, and the possible departure of Kevin Nash as well. But if he stays that's okay too! Especially since I rarely watch Impact anyways.
