On June 4, Bibiano Fernandes signed for his first fight with the UFC and one week later he is out due to injury.

The unfortunately injury plague of 2012 continues to haunt UFC matchmaker Joe Silva as Fernandes is the latest fighter to fall out of a fight after suffering an injury in training.


UFC officials announced the news on Monday.


Fernandes was one of the most sought after bantamweights in the free agent market, and was expected to face Roland Delorme at UFC 149 in Calgary in July.


A former Dream champion, Fernandes will now have to wait until later in the year to hopefully make his long awaited UFC debut.


Delorme is expected to remain on the UFC 149 card, but a new opponent has not been secured yet.

Ugh. I was looking forward to his UFC debut, been waiting such a long time to see him picked up by the organization. Seen a bunch of his DREAM fights over the years. Whatever, at least UFC 149 still has Hector Lombard on it...for now.
