I only started watching The Sopranos for the first time over the last couple of weeks and I'm in season 3 at the moment. I'm not as high on it, as the overall rating score suggest most are, due to a couple of gripes, but overall it easily beats a lot of shows. Psych had no chance.

Fucking Ralphie killing off Tracy so hard to watch that every single time. Dude was a loose cannon it made me happy when he got his in the end but this was the start of him getting strikes against him. Imagine Ralphie around Tony's age.

I mean... that is the one thing I did watch some years ago, since I was intrigued by the people being pissed about the cut to black ending. tbf, I can't remember exactly what happened and what characters were involved, but yea... I'm not gonna get surprised by that cut to black finish. Probably gonna hit differently though, since I know the characters now.

I will say that I find Sopranos overrated, that could just be because impossible for it to live up to the rep. But it’s a very strong show which doesn’t deserve the GOAT tag it often gets IMO.

I agree completely if I find a list and it's #1 I'm like oh this is cookie cutter list that everyone just claims is there own. It's a good show, it's not the best.

I loved The Sopranos, even with the crazy hype I had for it. I was just so engrossed in the characters and dialogue. Even when nothing much is happening, I just found myself absolutely captivated by it. It really feels like you're watching real people a lot of the time.

As for it being the best show ever, I'd put a few above it. Like The Wire for example. But it's definitely up there for me.

I loved the first season of The Wire second season is pretty good, couldn't get into the third though.
