I too would probably still go with The Thing even if it was against The Japanese Ring. But it would be pretty close I think.

リング is an amazing film to be honest. I think it's definitely better than the American Ring. Although each is different enough to be unique. If Ju-On was on this list, I'd have a tougher time with this one.

But The Thing would still win.
