I am gonna go with Kerry Von Erich. I know Ric Falir was around but I saw more of Kerry's matches and think he was one of the best of the eighties.
I am sure everyone will say others but I'll stick with him.

Again this is an OPINION!!!

For my money, its Ricky Steamboat. He was the first guy that I really gave a crap about in the ring, and it was mostly for his matches. Granted, I didn't know anything about wrestling back then, but when I saw Steamboat it just looked great. The chops looked stiff, the armdrags were flawless, he just looked so smooth in the ring and could have a good match with just about anyone.

I'm going to have to go with Steamboat too. When I watched his matches i saw something "different". I couldn't put my finger on it at a young age, but I knew I was watching something special. As for now, I can still watch classic Steamboat matches and feel the same way as I did back then (though now I understand the technique, skill and flow more than i did then as to appreciate it all the more).

honourable mentions:
rhodes
kerry von erich
abdullah the butcher

Easily Ric Flair, Hogan may have put wrestling on the map but Flair really elavated wrestling to a new level, his rivalries were intense and the amount of ***** matches he put on was amazing.

Im not gonna front here and act like i was watching wrestling in the 80s seeing as how I was barely born in the 80s....but Ive watched alot of videos and I think some of the best wrestlers from the 80s are

Roddy Piper
Jesse Ventura
Kurt Hennig

Now I liked Savage and quite honestly have never been a Flair or Hogan fan and I admit I may have missed some of the better ones because I may lack certain videos....but imo, from what I have seen, those are my top picks
