Beneil Dariush vs. Tony Martin slated for UFC 176 in Los Angeles
A lightweight bout between Beneil Dariush (7-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) and Tony Martin (8-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) is the 10th addition to August’s UFC 176 lineup.
UFC officials recently finalized the bout and added it to the official lineup.
UFC 176 takes place Aug. 2 at Staples Center in Los Angeles. The main card airs live on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass. In the main event, featherweight champion Jose Aldo defends his title in a rematch against Chad Mendes.
Dariush vs. Martin will likely be on the UFC Fight Pass portion of the card.
Dariush, who fights out of California with Kings MMA, quickly submitted veteran Charlie Brenneman in his UFC debut earlier this year. It pushed the 25-year-old’s perfect start to 7-0 with six stoppages. However, in his most recent bout, he suffered a TKO loss to Ramsey Nijem.
He looks to regroup against Martin, an American Top Team fighter who earned a UFC contract after an 8-0 start to his career. However, in his promotional debut, he suffered a unanimous-decision loss to Rashid Magomedov at UFC 169.
The latest UFC 176 card now includes:
Champ Jose Aldo vs. Chad Mendes – for featherweight title
Gegard Mousasi vs. Ronaldo Souza
Fabricio Camoes vs. Gray Maynard
Shayna Baszler vs. Bethe Correia
Jussier Formiga vs. Zach Makovsky
Walmir Lazaro vs. James Vick
Derek Brunson vs. Lorenz Larkin
Bobby Green vs. Abel Trujillo
Danny Castillo vs. Tony Ferguson
Beneil Dariush vs. Tony Martin
