Christopher Daniels spoke with Kayfabe Wrestling Radio about his rivalry with AJ Styles as well as their upcoming final match at Final Resolution.
“If there’s any other rivalry that’s been going on as long as me and AJ, I’d like to know who it is. Honestly, we talk about it sort of half-jokingly like ‘Holy cow, we’re wrestling each other again?!’ But it’s a testament to our chemistry. Despite the fact that we’ve been doing it pretty much nonstop for a year-and-a-half, we’re still finding ways to make it different and make it new to the fans. And that’s the challenge for us.
“I was actually talking to somebody who told me, that they figured out that AJ and I have wrestled 114 singles matches in our careers. At this point now, like at this weekend’s live events in North Dakota I’m almost 100% sure that’ll be 115, 116 and 117. TNA is going to get as many times out of it as they can before the last time. I’ve been happy with the matches we’ve had this year. The last man standing at Destination X, the tag matches we had with me and Frankie (Kazarian) against him and Kurt (Angle), and the Bound For Glory Series match we had on television. Here’s a chance to sort of end this rivalry the place that it started; we’ll see where it goes. I think it’s going to be cool. I think the fans are going to be entertained and interested to see where we go from here.”
