Sources say Batista is coming to grips with the fact that his days are numbered as a full-time, active WWE wrestler.

While he plans to make a full recovery from his recent biceps injury, the talk is that Batista knows he will not be able to continue for much longer. Though most wrestlers end up going far longer than Mother Nature would recommend, the feeling is that Batista has accepted that his body is aging--he might not opt to make more returns if he again succumbs to injury after returning from this ailment.

WWE still places Batista's expected return time frame at 4-6 months, although there is some optimism that he will try to get back in the ring by the end of the summer.

RETIRE

Thoughts?

EXCELLENT.. Fuck off now while you can.

wwe shouldnt give him part time, like they do with HBK and Taker.

because Batista isn't in there league.

Excellent news mate, you deserve rep.

if anyone thinks i'm rude, then fuck off. 7 years of Batista is too much and i want that 7 years back.

I cant help but laugh at Big Dave. He's just as fragile as Mr. Kennedy.

Who gets the title, and gets injured in 24 hours? lmfao. Give up.

I've said it before, I'll say it again.
-I'll miss him alot when he retires. He hasn't been as good lately though, but 05-07, the guy was awesome
-WWE will need to find a huge star to take his place. Think what you want about him, but this is one of their top guys, and one of their biggest draws.

To be perfectly honest..when he's not around I really don't really think there's too noticable of a gap in the roster.

There will be. You don't just lose a top star and not notice. They'd need someone to keep those fans, and sell the merchandise, and be the fan favourite Batista is. Like it or not, he's one of the most over guys in the company.

MVP could take his spot if they get his face character rght. Christian could fill his void. Trump wants Christian on his show so he makes Tiffany "an offer she can't refuse" to get him. Oh yeah, and he could give her money as well.

There's guys on the roster to fill it, they just gota pick who to pull the trigger on.

well I never bought any of his merchandise.

the only reason he got over was he beat HHH 3 times. if that didn't happen he wouldnt be that over.

when he feuded with HBK and taker i think the fans were more on HBK/Taker side rather than batista. so he isnt one of the most over guys in the company.

What is this, the 5th thread in a month on exactly the same topic?

Also, noumenon is right. When Cena/HBK is out there's a gap but Big Dave's absence still allows for a full product.

Batista atleast had feuds of the year! and matches of the year with the likes of HHH and Undertaker...

While you guys jerk off for Punk (who I dont see anything special about him really) never also won a feud of the year or even a good match. He is just another ROH wrestler with no "it" factor to be called a real star in WWE.

Neither have I. But millions of others have.

Wrong. He was over before even beating Triple H once. Go watch WM21, and the lead up to it, before he even beat Triple H. Also, it doesn't matter what got someone over in the first place. Bottom line is he's one of the most popular guys.

when he feuded with HBK and taker i think the fans were more on HBK/Taker side rather than batista. so he isnt one of the most over guys in the company.
That's because he played a tweener. And also, even if he wasn't a tweener, that doesn't mean he's not over. If Cena goes up against Triple H, and gets booed, because they like Triple H better, that doesn't mean Cena isn't a top guy. He still is.

Batista was the man in 2005-2007. He was a beast. As soon as 2008 hit and he was put into that SVR rivalry with Umaga at WMXXIV, that really killed his momentum. He was getting good again with his rivalry with Cena which ultimately led to his last World title, his reign was 2 weeks and it wasn't "the best" reign I have ever seen. His age showed and made you think..."wow, he is champ again? How about that!" Ever since then he has been chuggin' along dealing with injuries. How many injuries has he had altogether in his WWE stint, 3-5 different injuries in 7 years?
