Baron Corbin is hoping to extend his stay in NXT.

While being interviewed by Joe Karni of The Angle Podcast over SummerSlam week, Corbin was asked if NXT was his new home in WWE. Corbin said he's still a "free agent" and can be on Raw, SmackDown, and NXT, but he's hoping to stay in NXT for a couple more months.

No, I’m still on all three shows. But I am fighting to stay in NXT a little bit because I really just want to give our audience a good break from me, you know? Give them a few months without me driving them nuts. So I would like to personally stay in NXT for a couple more months and just really fine-tune the details of what I’m trying to bring to the people. And I mean, NXT’s great, but also I love enjoying working the superstars down there. They’re hungry. They've got a lot of energy, a lot of excitement. They love this. It elevates your passion and energy for what we do. So it’s a fun place to be.

Corbin recently said that he felt like he was "drowning" on the main roster before moving to NXT. He arrived in NXT this May.

At NXT Great American Bash, Corbin was the opponent for Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson's in-ring debut. The match ended in a double countout.

Corbin defeated Andre Chase on last week's NXT episode.

Not a bad thing all around. He get's away from the main roster. Helps newer talent. Recharges.

I mean he needs a good couple of months there at least to establish the character change and everything.
