Bloody Elbow Radio, presented by Bad Boy, was live Thursday for another edition of the show. Hosts Matt Bishop, Forrest Lynn and MMA Mania's Brian Hemminger discussed the latest in mixed martial arts, including the upcoming fall fight cards, plus we previewed this weekend's big shows — Bellator 47 in Ontario and Strikeforce Challengers 17 in Las Vegas, including looking at what we dubbed the best fight of the weekend, Friday's bantamweight clash between Sarah Kaufman and Liz Carmouche.
We had two solid guests on the show. We were joined by Strikeforce middleweight Tim Kennedy as he prepares for his fight next week against Robbie Lawler at "Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson." We chatted with him about that fight, losing Ranger Up as a sponsor, the Strikeforce middleweight division, PEDs and much more.
"Robbie is a constant competitor. He's very experienced. He's a veteran. It's not like i'm going to go out there and control this guy. He's a top-10 guy in the world and I have a lot to prove in this fight. He's very dangerous, so I think you can expect fireworks. You can expect me to bring the fight to him and I'm hoping for the fight of the night. We're going to go out and put everything out there."
We also were joined by Bellator 47's Ronnie Mann. Mann, who faces Pat Curran on Saturday in the semifinals of Bellator's Summer Series Featherweight Tournament, discussed that fight, the tournament itself and more.
"There's a very high talent level (in this tournament). You have me and Pat Curran, and we're both very well-rounded fighters. And you've got Marlon Sandro who's a knockout artist and Nazareno Malegarie, who's a specialist on the ground. Anything can happen. It's going to be good no matter who fights who."
Bloody Elbow Radio returns to the air at 4 p.m. ET Tuesday. We're scheduled to be joined by UFC middleweight Jorge Rivera.
