Bloody Elbow Radio, presented by Bad Boy, was live Thursday for a jam-packed show live from Hoffman Estates, Ill., the site of Saturday's "Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson," which will take place at Sears Centre Arena.
Matt Bishop, Mike Fagan and MMA Mania's Brian Hemminger were live in Hoffman Estates and were joined by Forrest Lynn to preview this weekend's co-promotion between Strikeforce and M-1 Global, which is headlined by a heavyweight bout between Fedor Emelianenko and Dan Henderson and a Strikeforce women's bantamweight title fight between Marloes Coenen and Miesha Tate.
We had three big guests on the show, two joining us live in person.
We first were joined at the top of the show by Strikeforce lightweight Gesias Cavalcante as he prepares to fight Bobby Green on Saturday. We chatted with him about that fight, how important it is to get back in the cage quickly, the All Balls Brawl, what exactly a Blackzillian is and how that term came about and much more. His training partner, UFC middleweight Jorge Santiago, also stepped in and spoke with us for a few seconds.
Then we were joined by Tate as she prepares for her long-awaited championship match with Coenen on Saturday. We talked with her about the fight, avoiding Coenen's submissions, if she feels any pressure in this fight, visualization and more.
Then we were joined live from Kansas City by HDNet broadcaster Michael Schiavello as he gets ready to call tonight's Titan Fighting 19 live on HDNet. We got the rundown of that card, plus we talked about the Strikeforce show and what's next in his "The Voice Versus" series.
