If WWE United States Champion John Cena is unable to face WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins in the Winner Takes All match at SummerSlam, potential back-up matches include Rollins defending against Randy Orton in a singles match or a Triple Threat with Rollins defending against Orton and Sheamus.

This is why they did the finish where Sheamus cost Orton the main event on last night's RAW. If Cena is able to go for the match against Rollins, Orton will likely end up facing Sheamus in a singles match.

WWE will likely be making a final decision at next week's RAW, if not before then, once they get an update on Cena's condition.

So they dedicated an hour of a whole show to set up a possible backup plan for a title match at Summerslam. And said plan sucks.

WWE in 2015

at least they have their ducks in a row.

yo swing, I was at the bus stop when the realization hit me. like a car door. flying through the air.

PWMania said:
WWE United States Champion John Cena appeared on Tuesday night’s Tough Enough episode and indicated that he will be ready to go for the “Winner Takes All” match against WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins at SummerSlam.

Responding to Triple H’s “Cena is 50-50 for SummerSlam” comments on RAW, Cena said Triple H wouldn’t be a good odds-maker and referred to Daniel Bryan’s “yes!” chant for his answer to Rollins’ challenge.

Cena did not say when he will be back in the ring but said he’s ready to get back in.

Well, that settles that.:bige:

Shades of SummerSlam 2013, right? CenaWinsLOL, but then Sheamo cashes in and then we get the most boring feud till the end of the year! Yay!

Eh, I wouldn't have really minded this. Not that I'd be extremely stoked to see it either, but the "Champion vs Champion, Title vs Title" scenario would be a perfect fit for Night Of Champions given the name and theme of that PPV, and if Seth is destined to lose his championship to Cena, at least it'd prolong his title reign by an extra month. Brock vs Undertaker is enough to carry Summerslam as an interesting main event for me. I care far more about that match than I do any other on the card.

Fuck... Do you know what could've been the SS main event? Anything but those options, so we get a pointless title bout, the commentators plug it as amazing and WWE is still left to question why fans think Summerslam 2015 went down the toilet even though it was 4 hours.
