- We noted before that most people within WWE expect the company to re-sign Brock Lesnar, especially now that the SummerSlam buyrate has come out.

The feeling is that WWE will offer him another deal but at a lower pay rate than his current deal. Unconfirmed reports earlier this year stated that Lesnar likely signed his current deal for around $5 million.

At the same time, one source says Lesnar will bring a lot more negotiating power to the table this time around because he’s proven that he can sell pay-per-views.

It wouldn't make sense for them to give Lesnar a contact of a lower pay rate. I don't think Lesnar would allow that either. I also don't see much in bringing Lesnar in for an additional year if he's going to be as infrequent as he is now.

From a business stand point (IMO) paying 5million for a guy to make 15 or so appearances a year is madness. They have to have him make more appearances at PPVs if they want a decent return.

It is madness and Lesnar now has leverage with the buyrate so I highly doubt he'll be lowering his pay rate. This is why I think the whole Lesnar thing should just end this year. It doubt it'll have the same value next year anyway.

What was the Summerslam buyrate?

I'd like to see Lesnar if he had more appearances on his contract.

Summerslam 2012, which featured the blockbuster “Perfect Storm,” main event of Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H, drew an estimated 350,000 buys (264,000 North American, 86,000 international).

This is up from last year’s 311,000 (180,000 North American, 131,000 international).

Here are the buyrates for the past few SummerSlams:

2012: 350,000 (Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H)
2011: 311,000 (CM Punk vs. John Cena)
2010; 350,000 (Team Cena vs. Team Nexus)
2009: 369,000 (CM Punk vs. Jeff Hardy TLC, Orton vs. Cena)

Give him the same amount, and add at least 10 more appearances. Otherwise, :gtfo:

If he proved that he can sell PPVs, why would they lower the pay rate? He should just ask at least the same amount, possibly more. They should try to bring him back for longer time and put him in a good storyline.

If he resigns, I hope he actually appears for more dates than he has been. His contract this year killed a lot of my excitement for him personally. The Cena feud was fine because he appeared every week, but the Triple H feud lost a lot of steam for me because he broke Triple H's arm (great segment) but then vanished and they had to have Heyman appear on the show every now and then 'suing' the WWE just to remind us that the feud was still going. And now he's gone again, probably until Wrestlemania.
