Backstage news from Monday's WWE Draft
As was the case with past drafts, many of the "drafted" WWE wrestlers were not informed of their fates prior to Monday's RAW telecast.
In situations with high-profile storyline reveals, WWE likes to keep its knowledge loops as small as possible. A number of wrestlers felt disrespected that WWE opted not to trust them to keep the information confidential, but the internal belief is that assuring surprises remain under wraps trumps such concerns.
Plus, as the Torch reports, "It's become a bit of a sport or a game within WWE to try to keep leaks like that from happening."

We had Sgt. Slaughter on our radio show this morning. He was promoting an appearance he's doing at a minor league baseball game just outside of Washington, DC. We got him to talk about his start, his favorite match and all of that other typical boring stuff. However, when we got him talk about the time The Iron Shiek and Jim Duggan got arrested for "possession" during the kayfabe era, I about fell over laughing. For example, did you know that Duggan's father was receiving an award the very next night for "Policeman Of The Year"?!?!?! It's true. He also talks about what it's going to take wrestling to the height it reached in the late 90's with Austin and The Rock, the Monday Night Wars, etc. We put the interview up as a podcast on our website: http://www.idigbig.com/pages/ballard.html
Over at TMZ.com (the celebrity gossip site ran by Harvey Levin - the legal guy on The People's Court and the man who was all over the news last week reporting the Paris Hilton saga), they have an article up on their site saying that WWE diva Ashley Massaro is going to be appearing on Survivor. TMZ is a mainstream site (and it is co-owned by AOL).
