“After this injury, I was talking to Monte Cox and I said what would the UFC think about me moving back down to 185? I think at this point in time, in their minds, if I was able to put a title run together, even if they did do another rematch between Anderson (Silva) and I, there’s been enough time at this point there would be interest in the fight, and I guess that’s what the interest is now.”
In talking to mmaweekly radio, Rich “Ace” Franklin divulged his reasoning behind making the move back down to the division where he once reigned as king. (His return bout is against Cung Le at UFC 148)

After two unsuccessful bids at beating Anderson Silva and a failed attempt at taking out Vitor Belfort, Franklin made 205 his home. However after a hit and miss relationship he is intent on returning to the division that made him a champion.

I can't see him getting another crack at the title, unless he comes out in his next fight and really shows something special, not going to be easy though as he has a pretty tough next fight.
