Former UFC lightweight and welterweight champion B.J. Penn is a resident of Hawaii, and does most of his training there traditionally. In the past, he has actually flown in specific training partners to get ready for fights. It seems that he's changing things up this time though and has elected to move his camp to California, along with training partner Kendall Grove and brother Reagan Penn. Both of them will be competing on ProElite's August 27th card. MMA Weekly spoke to Penn training partner Erik Applehttp://www.sbnation.com/mma/fighter/129522/erik-apple, who passed on the info:

"We’re training down at RVCA (in Costa Mesa)," Apple said on Tuesday night in Los Angeles. "We have B.J. Penn, Reagan Penn training down there, as well as Kendall Grove. Both Kendall Grove and Reagan Penn are going to be fighting on Pro Elite's event August 27th in Honolulu, Hawaii."

According to Apple, Grove and the Penn brothers have been in the Orange County region for approximately two weeks in anticipation of their upcoming fights.

"They’re going to be preparing for Aug. 27, and after that, B.J. is going to stay here and continue to get ready for http://mmaweekly.com/carlos-condit-vs-b-j-penn-targeted-as-co-main-event-for-ufc-137-fight-cardhis fight with Carlos Condit in October," he said.

Reagan, the youngest of the Penn brothers, will be making his MMA debut on the August 27th card and it will be Grove's first fight since being released by the UFC. Kendall will be taking on Joe Riggs.
