'Awkward' casting scoop: 'Ringer' star Kris Polaha to guest -- EXCLUSIVE
Ringer star Kris Polaha is adding another TV gig to his resume: EW has exclusively learned that the star will guest on MTV’s scripted teen comedy Awkward in a two-episode arc that will air later in the series’ second season, which is currently in production.
Awkward follows the ups and downs of teen Jenna Hamilton (Ashley Rickards), who becomes a school celebrity after people mistakenly think she attempted suicide.
Details are slim at this point, but Polaha will play a man who figures prominently in the past of character Lacey, played by Nikki DeLoach, who coincidentally had a guest role on Ringer earlier this season.
Creator Lauren Iungerich wrote the role with Polaha — who also starred in the critically acclaimed Life Unexpected, from Liz Tigelaar — in mind. A premiere date for the second season of Awkward has yet to be announced.
