Auto updater (similar to Facebook)

Is there a way to place a board auto updater to that similar of facebook? Like when you're looking at your facebook timeline, and when someone posts a status, it automatically shows up with you refreshing the page, or clicking a link or anything. This would be such a nice addition to have to the site, and it would prove very useful, and worth the time to install it... that is, if there is a plugin for it already.

I don't know much about SSS, but I'm assuming it would be possible. Atleast I think that would fall under server side anyways.

If this is possible, you should really consider adding it Crayo.

We're on shared hosting, and having that many automatic data calls would be bad load for the server.

Facebook have that feature because they can afford to have it.
