Yeah, that promo was based around beating snake wasn't it? Or going to beat snake, something like that. It just became a trend, people made signs about it, t-shirts, etc. That promo created Austin 3:16.

I watched the DVD and he said that someone told him that Jake Roberts made references to God and he said that the 3:16 thing just came to him immediately.

Watched the same DVD and you're right. Jake was referring to the bible I think with 3:16 keep coming up, think it's like 16 lines down paragraph 3. Austin just used that and said what he said. Epic.
