Of all of Ted Mosby's love interests on How I Met Your Mother, Victoria seems to be the one most suited for him. While I won't hold my breath that things might actually work out for the duo, things did leave off in a very interesting place for both characters when the seventh season of the CBS comedy series ended, and it sounds like there's more to come for the couple in Season 8. Spoilers ahead!
When last we saw Ted (Josh Radnor) and Victoria (Ashley Williams), she was dressed in a wedding dress and Ted was taking her back to the church, unwilling to steal someone else's fiancé. Of course, he changed his mind at the last minute and the two drove off into the sunset together. Since this is not the end of the series, that's obviously not their "and they lived happily ever after" moment. But it does sound like we'll see more of Victoria in Season 8. According to TVLine, Ashley Williams is set to return for a multi-episode arc when HIMYM returns this September.
Here's where things get a bit more spoilery: Apparently, Ted learns that Victoria didn't actually tell her fiancé she was leaving him. No note or text or anything else to explain her decision to split. That prompts Ted to turn around and go back to the church. I expect things will only get messier from there.
Given how Season 7 ended, it's not exactly surprising to learn that Williams will be back, but the eighth season could have just as easily picked up after a time-jump, putting Victoria in the rearview in some way. So it's good to know her and Ted's relationship will be explored a bit more when Season 8 returns (September 24 on CBS).
