I can't help but wish they'd waited a year or two for it, due to Impact Zone being so small it didn't have a big feel to it, it felt like he picked up the ROH title again which while I'm a huge fan of the past Ring Of Honour isn't how it's supposed to feel as the champion of a company which boasts icons such as Sting and Hogan in it's ranks. Imagine if Aries would have picked the title up in an atmosphere like Chicago or even better Philly. So does anyone else wish they'd waited to pull the trigger on him for a bit longer into the companies expansion? He'll get it again but the title win would have felt more special on a grander stage.

I hear what your saying but the angle he was in was booked almost flawlessly. Putting up the X-Division title for a world title shot and beating the longest reigning TNA champ in history was fantastic. Aries is too good of a talent to have been held down another year or two.

This. I marked so hard, one of my biggest mark out moments since I started watching wrestling again in 2010. The IZ went ape shit, as well. It was a really great moment. I wouldn't change anything

This +1.

It'd be a disaster waiting for talent like him to win it for 1 or 2 yrs more. Everything was done perfectly IMO.

a) he was the longest reigning X Division champ at the time
b) Roode was the longest reigning World champ at the time
c) Aries had to give up his title just to get a shot at Roode
d) Aries beats Roode in all or nothing main event to end Roode's streak and becomes even more great

Simple, but damn awesome it was. I wouldn't change a thing, because Aries was HOT at time, and waiting would ruin it for him. Hot iron is the best iron my friend.
