People are sheep and in a culture like wrestling which lacks a lot of news coverage they flock to the next best thing even if it is flawed or blatantly lies.

Same way people watch politically angled news reports if they either don't care or cannot get ahold of an unbiased report. They need the news and thus go to the next best thing available.

Probably due to the longevity of his role as a sports journalist, and the fact that some wrestlers definitely have chosen him as a source to vent anger in the past. It's just 80% of the lies that comes with 20% of the truth. I understand it as this is his job and he can't rely on wrestlers coming to him all the time, but it is frustrating at times.
