Are they heading down the road of Claire Lynch with this storyline?

Most people know how horrible that Claire storyline was on TNA, so are WWE heading down the same route? I highly doubt they would have Cena guilty of this "affair" after saying he isn't, since he's too nice to ever lie. I can see some horrible swerve, and the painful thing is this storyline will probably draw. Why? Casuals love those soap-opera stories, the Daniel Bryan/AJ wedding drew and most of us know how disgusting that was.
