As the title says, are phones getting too big? They've definitely been growing over the past few years, almost to the size of tablets. Nowadays, having a 'mini' version of a phone would have been the average size of a phone just a few years ago. I've got the iPhone 5S and personally I think this is the maximum limit I'd go in terms of size for the modern phone world. I get the notion that for some things, bigger is better. A phone definitely does not fall in that category. Sooner or later, I'm going to be looking to upgrade as this phone definitely will become outdated eventually, but it seems that all the other phones on the market are just too big, and buying a 'mini' version of a phone just seems second rate. What are your thoughts? Are phones too big or are you happy with the increase in sizes? Do you prefer small phones or big ones? Which phone do you have? Discuss.

Honestly, I don't want to big of a phone. One of my ex coworkers had a huge phone, and while I understand he liked I personally wouldn't be able to put it in my pocket with my other stuff I usually carry around(wallet and 3DS mainly), so I would aim for a smaller phone. At the same time, the phone I had previously was way to small. I don't use my phone for just calling, I use it to web browse and play games, so I prefer the phone I have now. It's a good size, but not to big in my opinion.

I have iPhone 5s and that is fine with me. I agree people used to take the piss out of the brick phone in the eighties

Either the phones are getting too big or my pants pockets are too small. Either way when I can't fit my phone in my pocket this is a problem. I will not carry a pocketbook just for a phone. I don't believe in pocketbooks. So anyway the phones either need to be smaller or people need to make bigger/deeper pockets. Sometimes my phone just hangs in my pocket clearly visible and I'm worried it's going to fall out of my pocket.

I don't think they're getting too big but they're definitely borderlining that point.. personally I have a smart phone but it's not like anything special, the thing cost me $100 a few years back and has 3G but it still works and has gotten me through til now, I don't need all the latest and greatest apps only a few necessary ones like Uber for example.

Yes. My iPhone 6 isn't too crazy. But the iPhone 6 plus and S5... Are too big. I hate but phones. I actually still prefer the iPhone 5s.

I don't get the appeal. They're harder to text and do anything on. And I don't like holding a mini brick.

Too big? Right now, nope. I don't think so.

But wait till iPhone 10 or Samsung Galaxy S10 come out, I wouldn't be surprised if that shit looked like a cinder block.

It's a market trend. IPhone's before the 5 were often criticized for the small screen when put together with the Galaxy phones. When Samsung made a big phone so did Apple, Sony and Nokia and it's gonna go until someone starts making them small again.

I understand trends, sure. Guess I'm just against the casual thinking. Why make something more difficult to type on and more complicated to hold?
