I've noticed this a lot during my time being in high school an its always been on my mind. I don't really talk to many people at school because, I have hardly any real reason to talk to them and couldn't really be bothered with them. I know that may sound harsh but, when I do try to approach somebody they seem rather hard to approach for various reasons because, they could be talking to somebody else or texting on cell phone or whatever. I would think that I am a rather easy person to approach because, I consider myself rather nice and forgiving person. I've had a few people come up to me and ask me; "Why your hard to approach". An I tell them that I am not that hard to approach. Then they usually go off into saying something like well it always looks like your angry or upset about something. This leads me to my questions: (Depending on the circumstances).

"Has somebody ever told you that your hard to approach, did they tell you why?"

OR

"Have you ever tried to approach somebody that you thought was hard to approach?"

When I walk around I always have a serious look on my face, it isn't quite a frown but it is pretty close to it. I don't know why but I just do that rather than smiling all the time. When someone does talk to me my expression immediately changes and I am a really nice person. From the outside to people that don't know me it may seem that I am hard to approach and since I am 6'5" it may look a bit intimidating to some.

Before I finally decided to get glasses I was contantly trying to focus and see people who were coming my way, and it looked like I was mean mugging everyone and had a pissed off look all the time. I don't think a smile is what makes you approachable, since it looks like a goof most of the time imo, people start thinking "whats he grinning at?". Atleast thats what I think when I see people smiling at me for no particular reason.

I've never been one to be intimidated by others, so approaching people is no problem for me. I'm a very confident person and that shows, and it makes me very approachable to people. The blue moon nights when I go to clubs, I get constant attention from females and I think its because of my confidence, not fake confidence mind you. Real belief that you can bring home anyone or make anyone like you.
