It has been a crazy couple of days in the wacky world of the UFC, and the announcements just keep coming. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, fresh off his career-saving knockout of Brendan Schaub at UFC 134, will get to avenge the first TKO loss of his career when he faces veteran Frank Mir at UFC 140 on December 10th in Toronto. UFC.com brings it:

A heavyweight standoff between two big names has been booked for December, as former UFC heavyweight champions Minotauro Nogueira and Frank Mir have verbally agreed to rematch at UFC 140 in Toronto.

"Both men are known as two of the premiere submission specialists in the division but have shown dangerous striking skills as well," said UFC president Dana White.

Nogueira and Mir first met at UFC 92. Mir went in as a huge underdog, but shocked the MMA world by knocking Nogueira down twice in the first and finishing him off in the second by TKO. Nogueira, long known as a guy who could take inhuman amounts of punishment and come back, had actually been finished for the very first time. After the fight, it came out that Nogueira was suffering from a brutal staph infection and should have pulled out of the fight, but chose not to. It has left a huge asterisk on the win, something that has always frustrated Mir.

Nogueira gets his chance at revenge, and Mir gets his chance to prove the first win wasn't a fluke. What's not to like? Along with Cain Velasquez vs. Junior dos Santos at UFC on Fox 1 and Brock Lesnar vs. Alistair Overeem at UFC 141, the end of 2011 is going to be all about the heavyweights.
